This is possibly the ultimate 17-inch MacBook Pro. The Late-2011 model was the last 17-inch MacBook Pro ever made, and this machine was the top-spec i7 variant. It was subsequently massively upgraded. The RAM was maxed-out at 16GB, the spinning metal hard drive was replaced by a 1TB SSD, and the optical drive replaced by a second 1TB SSD to give a huge 2TB of solid-state storage. (Even the very latest 2016 MacBook Pros max out at 2TB.) SSDs are both Samsung Evo 840 (with OWC Data Doubler adapter in the optical drive slot). Black Magic speed test shows write speed of 380MB/s and read of 510MB/s. This is head-and-shoulders above any speeds you'll see with a standard hard drive model. It is in good condition for its age, and the main photos show what it looks like. However, I believe in total disclosure, so have taken close-up photos of every ding and scratch I can find. In general, the close-up nature of the photos makes these look worse than they are; the exception is the scratch to the bottom-case, which doesn't show up as well in the photo as in real life. Screen has no damage or dead pixels. Camera, microphone and speakers all in full working order. The specs panel shows the machine with my stuff installed, but I will of course be doing a full macOS restore prior to delivery. I've left it as-is for now in case anyone wants to see it working – which can be arranged in SS11 by appointment. I've been extremely happy with this machine, but have finally bitten the bullet and upgraded to the 2016 15-inch model (again, top spec). It comes boxed (box is scruffy due to tape marks) and with two original Apple power supplies.
